These recent years have been a time of building and exploration for me personally. I’ve balanced the roles of Mom and Wife with a rewarding career in higher education administration. But several months ago I made a conscious decision to follow a hunch and embark on a new career path. I’m now a higher education search consultant! The work is far easier than being a college president, and at the end of each day I feel I true sense of accomplishment in that I’ve helped both candidates and universities find their perfect match. So I am basically a match-maker. I work for a national higher ed executive search firm and the work is great. This is something I never imagined doing earlier in my career. I honestly thought I would be a college president until retirement. However, looking back, I feel my career was always pointed in this direction, and truly this is something that I feel good about. The best thing is that I can work remotely and I decide the number of clients I’ll serve. Far different than the roles I’ve had in the past. But my journey is rather boring compared to that of my family, so stay tuned as we share bits and pieces of our lives…
